  - Local Arts- Crafting an advertisement to the style and feel of the clients brand. 
  - Family football tree- Concept, design, illustration and headline for weekly high school football section. 
  - Packed full of stories and art- Design, illustration and layout for main section page with multiple brief stories 
  - Tangled knot- When the headline becomes the illustration becomes the design. Don't transform your type into different shapes too often. 
  - Iraq culture- Iraq is divided and the commentary asks why we feel the need to bring them together. The design uses the separation of the people to form the colors of the Iraq flag. 
  - People patterns- Photo-illustration design solution depicting a person with a compass with rural, city, education, and workers. 
  - Happiness- Solutions as simple as this often have gone through rounds of sketches, headline treatments or other photos. Sometimes a visual comparison with contrasting color speaks volumes. 
  - Freedom of information- The story was short, but you get the point of it quickly by how the secondary headline reads through the censored text. 
  - Truth in chocolate- Creating a headline through clever restructuring of the subject at hand. 
  - David and Goliath- How the US wants to be the big shot but it's still not working. Use of 300 point font and white space. 
  - Evolving economy- Cover illustration for a special section about the diversity of the Valley and growth over time. 
  - Speaking of the internet- As the hands tick you get references to websites that are fun to visit. 
  - No art but big story- The Harry Potter book would be arriving soon. This depicts the space on the shelves that it'll occupy for only a short period of time in the stores. 
  - Cover bands- I took the supplied photo that and split it up to allow the copy to flow in the center as if it were intended to be designed this way in the first place. 
  - Top ten- Simple design solution where the top ten topics of the story are the arrows in areas of a target that are in relative positioning of significance.
